Vila Real de Santo António is situated on the Rio Guadiana, which is the river that divides the Algarve from Spain. If you stand on the far eastern edge of Vila Real you can easily see the Spanish coastline and the bridge over the river that connects the town to Ayamonte in Spain.
With a transfer time of less than an hour from Faro it is an excellent location for a training camp.
Guests can either stay in the resort of Monte Gordo or in the town of Vila Real which is 2km away and within walking distance of the sports centre.
Our teams will use the excellent sports facilities at the Vila Real St Antonio Sports Centre. Along with a 3 lane indoor 50m pool there is also an 8 lane 25m pool and a gym available. The swimming complex is part of a larger sports facility which offers tennis courts, an IAAF accredited track, football and rugby fields.
The sports centre has hosted many top class athletes which should give you an indication to the quality of the facilities.
