Málaga, known as the Capital of the Costa del Sol and the birthplace of Pablo Picasso is a large city located in Southern Spain.

With mild temperatures all year round, Málaga is an excellent choice for teams looking for warm weather swimming camps.

Málaga’s excellent swimming complex opened in June 2008 and boasts two 50m pools along with numerous other fitness facilities including a large fully equipped gym.

Our teams either stay at the Arunda Sports Residence, which is a former college located within walking distance of the pool, or in the nearby beach resort of Torremolinos, which is just 10 minutes away. Here you will find a number of hotels to choose from. Sports Abroad will organise all transfers to and from the pool from Torremolinos.

Resort Accommodation

Marconfort Griego Hotel

15 mins walk to the beach and sports facilities

The 4* Marconfort Griego Hotel is located near to the centre of Torremolinos where there are many shops, bars and restaurants. The beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel has undergone a huge refurbishment program to turn it into a 4* hotel (from a 3*). Check-in is 1500 and check-out is 1200 noon.

All 414 rooms have a private balcony, air-conditioning, satellite television, telephone and safety deposit box. The hotel also has a games room, cafeteria, snack bar, and a piano bar. There is an outdoor swimming pool and fitness facilities.

Transfers to and from the Malaga Aquatic Centre, which is only 10-15 minutes drive away, are included.

Standard Meal Times:

Breakfast: 0800 to 1030*
Lunch: 1300 to 1500*
Dinner: 1900 to 2200

* If training on the early schedule both breakfast and lunch can be arranged to suit swimming times.

Arunda Sports Residence

20 mins from the pool and 7 minutes by bike

The Arunda Sports Residence is a former college building which has been converted into accommodation with athletes in mind. The residence is less than 2km from the swimming facility so there is now need for transfers to and from the pool. Bike hire is included in all packages so you can reach the training pool within 10 minutes.

Arunda provides everything for an athlete including healthy balanced meals, “chill out” areas (for when swimmers are not training), free wi-fi, physio and medical rooms, meeting rooms and TV lounges. All rooms are air conditioned. Also, the beach (Playa de la Misericordia) is just a 10 minute easy stroll away.

Cervantes Hotel

5 minutes walk from the beach and 20 mins to the sport facilities

The 4* Cervantes Hotel is one of the best hotels in Torremolinos.

The hotel is located in the centre of the town close to many shops and restaurants with the beach just a short 5 minute walk away.

The Cervantes Hotel offers a total of 397 rooms (325 doubles, 49 singles and 23 triples) and all rooms have a bathroom, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, safe (extra charge), free WiFi , heating and air conditioning. All rooms also have a terrace and most have sea views.

Check-in is 1500 and check-out 1200 noon.
