STEVEN MELLOR

FULL PROFILE

Sports Abroad is managed by Olympic swimming finalist and Commonwealth Games medalist Steven Mellor. Steve brings a wealth of experience to the business having represented Great Britain for almost 15 years, travelling throughout the world to attend training camps and competitions.

“Launching Sports Abroad has provided me with a great opportunity to help groups organise all of their travel requirements and to take away the hassle of arranging their own training camps. Having personally attended numerous training camps as a swimmer myself I feel that Sports Abroad can offer greater advice and expertise, ensuring that teams have all the information necessary for an enjoyable and successful training camp”.

Since retiring from elite sport, Steven has worked within both the sports development and travel industries. He developed his knowledge of the travel industry as a manager with the largest independent travel agent in the UK. Here he was involved in organising overseas travel for players and spectators of a number of professional football teams including England, Manchester United, Glasgow Rangers and Middlesbrough. Following this appointment, Steven launched Sports Abroad in 2006.

The Sports Abroad team work closely with clients to ensure that we provide the type of camp you want and in the most suitable destination. As a company we guarantee that our prices are very competitive and that we will give you the best quotation possible. If you did manage to find a cheaper like-for-like quote then of course we would always try to price match!

Representing Great Britain, Steven has travelled to many swimming events across Europe, Asia, Australia, and both North and South America. He also still even holds a number of European masters records!
